Ellana Lee is senior vice president and managing editor of CNN International, based in the Asia Pacific headquarters of Hong Kong. As the most senior executive outside of the U.S. Lee is the managing editor for CNN International Asia Pacific and also has global oversight of the network’s expansive roster of feature programs and staff working from production hubs in Hong Kong, London, Abu Dhabi, New York and Atlanta. Lee also works closely with colleagues at Turner International to develop CNN International’s business operations worldwide. As head of the Asia Pacific network and its editorial output, Lee manages CNN’s award-winning on-air and online news and feature programming produced throughout the region, including the correspondents and newsgathering teams across 10 operations from Kabul to Seoul. While under her management, CNN has received a variety of prestigious awards in the Asia Pacific region including the 2014 ‘Cable & Satellite Network of the Year’ and the 2014 ‘Cable & Satellite Channel of the Year’ at the Asian Television Awards. Lee was named a ‘Young Global Leader’ by the World Economic Forum, is an Asia 21 fellow as awarded by the Asia Society, and is a graduate of Harvard’s ‘Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century’ Executive Program.
Turner, a Time Warner company, creates and programs branded news; entertainment; kids and young adult; and sports media environments on television and other platforms for consumers around the world.
